Nissan X-Trail Best Small Wagon

2005 Nissan X-TRAIL Wins Award
Nissan Press Release

Nissan X-TrailNissan's extreme four-wheel drive, the X-TRAIL, has won the esteemed 2005 Overlander Magazine 4WD Award for the Best Small Wagon.

Pitted against competitors in the popular compact four-wheel drive segment, the Nissan X-TRAIL won the award on the basis of its performance and practicality.

According to Overlander's chief road tester Fraser Stronach, the X-TRAIL has a "strong 2.5 litre four-cylinder engine with variable inlet-valve timing, arguably the best engine in its class."

The magazine praised the X-TRAIL for its off-road performance – thanks to Nissan's "All-Mode" 4WD system – plush on-road ride, roomy interior and practical features.

"Nissan's X-TRAIL is Australia's most popular small four-wheel drive wagon," said Mr Stronach, "and we reckon it's also the best."

Michael Hayes, Nissan's product marketing manager, was delighted to receive the award. "The X-TRAIL is a stand-out vehicle for Nissan and has proved its reliability and popularity many times over. Receiving an award such as this from a respected magazine like Overlander is the icing on the cake."

The Nissan X-TRAIL is available in two well equipped variants – the ST and Ti – and is priced from AUD $31,990.*
