Subaru WRX Wins MOTOR Comparison Test

The Subaru Impreza WRX has won a comparison test against the Volkswagen Golf GTI and Renault Megane Sport Cup in the January edition of MOTOR, out now.

The nine-page feature says: "Neither the Megane or the GTI can hold the WRX in a corner, nor in a straight sprint; the two of ‘em are convincingly overwhelmed by grip and go."

MOTOR concludes: "Our winner isn’t the toughest looker, that’s the Megane Cup; its pump guards and big wheels look the business, nor does it have the best interior, that belongs to the Golf. But what the WRX has over those other two is a step up in ability and a depth of talent that can be accessed by anyone. Unlike the Megane and the Golf which can end up seeming like mere transport the Rex is always daring you to light its wick, and then rewarding you for doing so. Punt a WRX hard and you’ll be smiling longer after you’ve switched off the ignition."
